About Rooftop Chimney Sweeps
Andy Raycroft founded Rooftop Chimney Sweeps in 1978 in Alexandria, VA, and Jim Brewer founded Magic Sweep in the same year in Newport News . Over the last 40 years, both founders have grown to be good friends and great experts in the chimney industry. They were among the first class of CSIA certified chimney technicians, and they both ran their business with the belief that they should build meaningful relationships based on trust and perform high-quality work. Andy’s sons Tristan and Dylan joined the business in the late 1990s and took over the day-to-day operations 2010s. Their vision has been to deliver the same quality service they grew up with but to more people.
In 2018, Rooftop Chimney Sweeps opened its first expansion in Richmond, VA. In 2020, Rooftop Chimney Sweeps and Magic Sweep merged into one company under the Rooftop brand that services all major metropolitan areas in Virginia as well as the District of Columbia. Jim Brewer and Andy Raycroft remain involved to this day, and their presence and values are part of the core of the company’s DNA. But now they can serve more clients with a bigger and better selection of products and services than ever before.
